Could You Succeed in a Home-Based Business?

Can the “Average Joe” really succeed in a home based business? Asks MLM Magazine in interview with new kid on the block Simeon Cryer.

Some people just love to get in on ground floor opportunities, but Simeon’s story proves that you can build a successful business no matter where you are positioned in the compensation plan. He modestly and openly reveals his success secrets in a down-to-earth chat with MLM Magazine.

MLM: “Some people resist the idea of having a home based business, because they think it won’t work for them. What has been your experience with working from home?”

Simeon: “When a friend of mine told me about a home business he was involved with, my mind flashed back about ten years prior when I was first exposed to this type of business. I was at a friend’s house for dinner when after an uncomfortable silence, somewhere between main course and desert, they suddenly whipped out a white board. SURPRISE! Not the best first impression.

“Fortunately for me, my friend showed me his work at home business in a much more professional way. And at the end of his presentation he said “This will be big with or without you Simeon, it will just be a lot more fun with you in it.” Amateurs sell professionals tell.

“I thought I was just too busy working two other jobs to have a look at making money from home. The last thing I needed was to get involved with something else that took me further way from my family who never saw me as it was. Too busy? The fact was I was too busy being broke.

“After saying no a few times I took the plunge and finally got started working from home (an hour or two a day). In the first three months I had made about $3000. In that same three months I had also qualified for an all expenses paid world class, luxury cruise of the Caribbean for two. Now I’ve got to tell you that really helped my marriage.

“13 months later, I was earning double the income from my full time job (with my “interesting” boss) with my little work at home business, which I was running on the side. Speaking of my boss — he was one of those guys who suffered from male PMS. God it felt good to sack him.

“Today we live in a beautiful waterfront property. And yes, we drive a couple of new BMWs but it’s the intangibles that stack up big-time for me in our work from home business. The depth of relationships Nicole and I have and the significant role we’ve played in the lives of others helping them make money from home — many who aren’t even in our business. And there’s the peace of mind that comes from not having to worry about finances — that’s a biggy. As well as the sense of fulfillment that comes when we can help others who can’t help themselves. This is what life should look like. Our marriage is fun and secure. And now we have a baby who doesn’t have to miss out on Mum or Dad because I work from home. In fact, our baby girl has more stamps in her passport than most adults we know. We get to travel the world with friends we’ve helped to become successful in their own home business and often the company pays for it. It’s a blast. And we feel very blessed…..Can you believe I nearly said NO to this way of making money from home?

MLM: “It can’t be easy to build a huge home business like yours. Can you tell us your daily method of operation to grow such a successful work from home business?”

Simeon: “If you want a little result take a little action. If you want massive results, take massive action. I found it difficult in the beginning to find time for my family and two other jobs. But I had a burning desire that lead me to activity and it always guarantees success in any type of home based business. What I lacked in skill back then, I made up for with activity. And I squeezed in breakfast meetings, lunchtime get-togethers, 1-on-1 and 2-on-1 meetings, in home meetings and 3 way calls. You name it — I was doing it. I modeled success from the highest achievers in our work at home business and guess what happened? I became one of those achievers. I just received an email today acknowledging me as one of The Top 100 Income Earners in the World. That really spun me out. Me? Top 100? COOL.

“I know this will sound silly, but I feel as though I’ve been semi-retired for the first quarter of this year. It’s been filled with lots of traveling overseas and interstate and I’ve loved spending time with my family. I do feel it’s important to lead by example, so now I’ve commenced my own massive action campaign and I’ve put a lot more structure and focus to my weeks. I’ve got some HUGE goals for this year. And I feel I’ve given everyone else a reasonable head start (kidding!).
